Generally dry this evening and overnight with clear spells developing, although remaining cloudier over the Pennines. A colder night with a frost developing in the countryside, especially in rural Cumbria, as well as the odd fog patch. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Monday:

Any patchy fog soon clearing, then a fine day with a mixture of cloud and sunny periods. Feeling pleasantly warm in the spring sunshine with light winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Showery rain clearing early on Tuesday. Thereafter generally dry with cloudy periods and sunny spells. Temperatures above average and feeling pleasantly warm in the sunshine, albeit with some chilly nights.

The end of March will be characterised by changeable weather patterns. This will see a mixture of showers or longer spells of rain, these mainly in the north and northwest, interspersed with some dry and bright periods, especially in the south. Temperatures will mostly be near normal for the time of year. Into early April a good deal of settled weather is likely across the UK as a whole, with many areas dry under clear or sunny spells with light winds. Some periods of unsettled weather could develop at times, bringing outbreaks of rain and strong winds. Temperatures will likely be close to normal overall, though cold are possible where clear skies coincide with light winds.

Slow-moving (or blocked) weather patterns are most probable through the middle of April. Areas of low and high pressure will lie in the vicinity of the UK and depending on their location this can result in either dry conditions or wetter episodes with rain or showers. Temperatures will vary, with some large day-to-day swings possible, but overall are likely to be near average.
