Many eastern and southeastern areas will have a dry night with clear spells and gentle winds. Elsewhere becoming cloudier and breezy, even windy in the northwest, with some showery rain.
Sunday:
Cloud and outbreaks of rain across England and Wales will clear to leave a dry, fine and very warm afternoon. Windy for Scotland and Northern Ireland with occasional rain.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Rainbands moving southeast across the UK on Monday, followed by sunshine and showers on Tuesday. Rain heaviest in the north, where gales possible. Generally drier, brighter with lighter winds midweek.
Outlook for Thu 10 Sep to Sat 19 Sep
Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional outbreaks of rain or showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. A trend toward some longer dry interludes between systems as we head toward mid-September, but at this stage a return of prolonged dry, settled weather looks unlikely. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, though still with some relatively cool nights at times.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
