Denmark Strait

Cyclonic 4 to 6 throughout in far southeast, otherwise northerly or northeasterly 7 to severe gale 9, increasing storm 10 at times within 150 miles of the greenland coast, but occasionally 6 at first in south, decreasing 5 to 7 later except in far north. Rough or very rough occasionally high. Occasional rain or sleet at first in southeast, otherwise snow at times. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor. Light or moderate icing within 150 miles of the greenland coast with temperatures ms03 to ms05, occasionally severe in north with temperatures around ms06.

North Iceland

Northerly 7 to severe gale 9 in northwest mainly near the ice edge, otherwise cyclonic 4 to 6, decreasing 3 at times, but occasionally 7 in west and at first in south. Moderate or rough, occasionally very rough in south. Occasional rain, sleet or snow with fog patches, mainly in north and west. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor mainly north and west. Light or moderate icing in northwest near the ice edge with temperatures ms03 to ms05, occasionally severe with temperatures around ms06.

Norwegian Basin

In east

Cyclonic 3 to 5 in far northeast, otherwise southerly 6 to gale 8, occasionally severe gale 9 until later, then decreasing 5 or 6 later. Rough or very rough. Mainly fair in far east, otherwise occasional rain or showers, squally at times. Good, occasionally poor except in far east.

In west

Southerly 4 to 6, occasionally 7 in east, becoming variable 2 to 4, then southeasterly 3 to 5 later. Rough or very rough. Occasional rain or showers, fair later in west. Moderate or good.

Outlook for following 24 hours

Violent storms expected in East Northern Section and East Central Section with storms in Shannon, Rockall, Bailey and West Central Section and perhaps in Norwegian Basin. Severe gales expected in all other areas.
