High or very high at first in south, otherwise very rough or high, but rough or very rough in far north. Squally showers, turning wintry and thundery, rain or snow at first in far north. Moderate occasionally poor, but moderate or good occasionally very poor at first in far north.

West Northern Section

Cyclonic, mainly northwesterly, 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 later in northeast, decreasing 5 to 7 later in west. Rough or very rough at first in north, otherwise very rough or high. Snow showers. Moderate occasionally very poor. Occasional light or moderate icing in northwest.

East Central Section

Westerly or southwesterly 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 at first in northeast, veering westerly or northwesterly 7 to severe gale 9 later in north and becoming variable 2 to 4 later in southwest. Very rough or high in north, moderate or rough becoming rough or very rough in south. Occasional rain in south, showers turning wintry later in north. Good occasionally poor.

West Central Section

Cyclonic becoming northwesterly 6 to gale 8, decreasing 4 to 6 and backing southerly or southeasterly later in west. Rough or very rough. Occasional sleet or snow. Moderate or good occasionally very poor.

Westerly 5 to 7, becoming variable 2 to 4, then southerly or southeasterly 5 to 7 later in west. Rough or very rough becoming rough. Occasional rain or drizzle, fog patches later in west. Moderate or good, occasionally poor and very poor later in west.

Denmark Strait

Northeasterly 7 to severe gale 9, decreasing 4 to 6 later and backing northerly later in far north. Rough or very rough. Occasional snow. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor. Light to moderate icing throughout, with temperatures ms03 to ms06. Occasional severe icing in northwest of the area, close to the ice, with temperatures ms07 to ms10.

North Iceland

In south of area

Cyclonic 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 at first in south, becoming northerly 6 to gale 8 later. Rough or very rough becoming very rough or high later. Rain, sleet, snow and squally showers. Moderate occasionally very poor. Light to moderate icing in northwest throughout, with temperatures ms02 to ms05.

In north of area

Northerly 5 to 7, increasing 7 to severe gale 9. Moderate or rough becoming rough or very rough later. Occasional snow. Moderate or good occasionally very poor. Light to moderate icing throughout, with temperatures ms04 to ms07. Severe to very severe icing in northwest throughout, close to the ice, with temperatures ms08 to ms11.

Norwegian Basin

Cyclonic, mainly southerly or southwesterly at first, 7 to severe gale 9, increasing storm 10 for a time at first in east. Rough or very rough becoming very rough or high. Rain or squally showers. Moderate occasionally poor.

Outlook for following 24 hours

Storms are expected in East Northern Section and West Northern Section. Severe gales are expected in Shannon, Rockall, East Central Section, West Central Section, north Iceland and Norwegian Basin. Gales are expected in all other areas except Denmark Strait.
