Variable 3 or less at first in northwest, otherwise cyclonic 4 to 6, increasing 7 to severe gale 9 later except in far northwest, occasionally storm 10 later in south and southeast. Moderate or rough, becoming very rough or high later except in far west. Rain or showers, squally at times, and also thundery in south and east, and becoming wintry later in west, fog patches for a time in south and east. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor in south and east and poor in north and west.
Denmark Strait
Cyclonic 3 to 5 until later in south and southeast, otherwise northeasterly 6 to gale 8, occasionally severe gale 9 at first in west. Very rough until later in west, otherwise moderate or rough. Rain or sleet until later in south and southeast, otherwise snow, but becoming mainly fair later near greenland. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor. Light or moderate icing within 100 miles of greenland to the south of 70 north, with temperatures ms02 to ms05, but locally severe icing in east within 50 miles of greenland near the ice, with temperatures ms06 to ms09.
North Iceland
In area to the north of 70 north
Northerly or northwesterly 3 to 5. Slight or moderate. Snow showers. Good, occasionally very poor.
In area to the south of 70 north
Cyclonic 4 to 6, increasing 7 to severe gale 9 later in east but becoming northerly or northeasterly later in west. Slight or moderate becoming moderate or rough, then becoming rough or very rough later in east. Rain for a time in southeast, but sleet or snow at times elsewhere. Moderate or good, occasionally poor in southeast and very poor elsewhere. Light or moderate icing at times in western and central areas between 68 north and 70 north, with temperatures ms02 to ms05.
Norwegian Basin
In western half of the area
Southerly or southwesterly, veering westerly later, 4 to 6, increasing 7 or gale 8 for a time. Moderate becoming rough, then occasionally very rough later. Rain or showers, becoming squally later, and perhaps also wintry later in northwest. Moderate or good, occasionally poor.
In eastern half of the area
Southerly or southwesterly 4 to 6 increasing 6 to gale 8, occasionally severe gale 9 later. Moderate or rough, becoming very rough later. Rain or showers. Moderate or poor, occasionally good at first.

Violent storm force winds expected in East Northern Section, East Central Section and West Central Section. Storm force winds expected in Rockall, Bailey, Southeast Iceland and West Northern Section. Severe gales expected in Shannon, north Iceland and Norwegian Basin. Gales expected in Faeroes and Denmark Strait.
