Winds are expected to reach storm force 10 in the southern semicircle, and then also the eastern quadrant from 100300UTC, within 250 miles of the centre, becoming confined to the southern quadrant within 150 and 250 miles of the centre by 101100UTC, and winds are expected to reach violent storm force 11 in the southern quadrant within 100 miles of the centre until 092200UTC. Winds are also expected to reach storm force 10 in the northern quadrant until 100900UTC and also the northwestern quadrant until 101200UTC, between 50 and 350 miles of the centre in both quadrants. At 091200UTC, low 51 north 47 west 966 expected 56 north 39 west 957 by 101200UTC. Winds are expected to reach storm force 10 to violent storm force 11 between 50 and 250 miles of the centre in the southern semicircle, expanding from 101200UTC to within 100 and 600 miles of the centre in the southern quadrant. Cyclonic, severe gale 9 to violent storm 11 in far northwest, otherwise 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally 6 until later in southeast, becoming westerly or southwesterly later, and increasing severe gale 9 to violent storm 11 later in west. Very rough or high becoming high or very high. Occasional rain, then squally wintry showers in north and west and also later in southeast. Moderate or poor, occasionally very poor in north and west.

Denmark Strait

Northeasterly 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 in southwest. Very rough, occasionally rough in east and high in west. Squally wintry showers. Good, occasionally poor. Light or moderate icing expected within 150 miles of the greenland coast with temperatures of ms03 to ms05, but severe at times in north with temperatures ms06 to ms08.

North Iceland

In north

Cyclonic 3 to 5, occasionally 6 in south. Moderate or rough, occasionally very rough later in southeast. Sleet and snow showers. Good, occasionally poor. Light or moderate icing expected in far southwest close to greenland with temperatures of ms04 to ms06.

In south

Easterly or northeasterly 6 to gale 8, occasionally severe gale 9 in far southeast. Rough or very rough, occasionally high in far southeast. Rain at times in far southeast, otherwise sleet and snow showers. Moderate or good, occasionally poor. Light or moderate icing expected in far northwest close to greenland with temperatures of ms04 to ms06.

Norwegian Basin

Easterly or northeasterly becoming cyclonic, 3 to 5 at first in far northeast, otherwise 6 to gale 8, increasing severe gale 9 or storm 10 for a time in far southwest. Moderate or rough, becoming rough or very rough in east and very rough or high in west. Mainly fair, then rain or squally showers. Moderate or good, occasionally poor.

Outlook for following 24 hours

Violent storms expected in East Northern Section, West Northern Section and West Central Section with storms expected in Sole, Shannon, Rockall, Southeast Iceland, East Central Section and Denmark Strait. Severe gales expected in Bailey and Faeroes with a risk of severe gales in Norwegian Basin. Gales expected in north Iceland.
