West Northern Section

In northern half of the area

East Central Section

Westerly or northwesterly 5 to 7, but gale 8 at first in northeast, backing southwesterly 4 to 6, increasing 6 to gale 8 later except in southeast. Rough or very rough, but moderate in southwest and high at first in northeast. Showers in south, rain later in north. Good, but moderate or poor later in north.

West Central Section

Denmark Strait

Variable 2 to 4 at first in far northeast and far southwest, otherwise cyclonic, becoming northerly or northeasterly near greenland, 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 later in northeast. Slight at first in far northeast, otherwise moderate or rough, occasionally very rough in northwest. Fair at first in southwest, otherwise rain at times, but sleet in northeast and fog patches in southeast. Good at first in southwest, otherwise moderate or poor, occasionally very poor in southeast.

North Iceland

Variable 2 to 4 at first in north, otherwise cyclonic, mainly easterly or southeasterly, 4 to 6, occasionally 7 at first in southeast. Moderate or rough, occasionally slight in north and very rough in far southeast. Fair in northeast, otherwise rain or drizzle at times, fog banks developing in south. Good in northeast, otherwise moderate or poor, occasionally very poor.

Norwegian Basin

Variable 2 to 4 at first in far northeast, otherwise cyclonic 6 to gale 8, decreasing 4 to 6. Moderate or rough, occasionally very rough in far southwest. Fair in far northeast, otherwise rain, then squally showers. Good in far northeast, otherwise moderate or good, occasionally poor.

Outlook for following 24 hours

Severe gales are expected in Bailey, East Northern Section and West Northern Section, with gales expected in Rockall, Faeroes, Southeast Iceland, East Central Section, West Central Section and Denmark Strait. Gales are also possible in Shannon.
