In southwest

Variable 2 to 4 at first in west, otherwise northwesterly 4 to 6, occasionally 7 in northeast and later elsewhere, perhaps gale 8 later. Moderate or rough becoming rough or very rough. Showers. Good, occasionally moderate.

East Central Section

In north

Cyclonic mainly westerly, gale 8 to storm 10, occasionally violent storm 11 at first in north, becoming westerly 6 to gale 8, backing southwesterly 5 to 7 later. High or very high, becoming very rough later. Rain or squally showers. Poor, occasionally good later.

In south

West Central Section

Northwesterly 7 to severe gale 9 at first in far northeast, otherwise westerly or northwesterly, becoming cyclonic in south, 5 to 7, decreasing 4 at times later. Very rough or high at first in far northeast, otherwise rough, occasionally very rough in north and east. Showers, then occasional rain, mainly fair later in north. Good, occasionally poor, becoming moderate or poor later in south.

Denmark Strait

Northerly or northeasterly 7 to severe gale 9, but severe gale 9 to violent storm 11 between 66 and 71 north. Very rough or high, occasionally rough at first, then becoming very high at times in south. Occasional rain, sleet, snow and freezing rain. Moderate to very poor. Light icing in far north with temperatures around ms02.

North Iceland

In southeastern half of area

Easterly or southeasterly 5 to 7, increasing gale 8 at times in southeast, then increasing 7 or gale 8 later in south, occasionally severe gale 9 later near Iceland coast. Rough or very rough, occasionally high later in south. Occasional rain and fog patches, becoming mainly fair later in south. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor.

Light icing in far northwest with temperatures around ms02, occasionally moderate later with temperatures ms03 to ms05.

Norwegian Basin

In area east of 05 east

In area west of 05 east
