West Northern Section

In northern half of the area

East Central Section

Northwesterly mainly 4 to 6, but 7 or gale 8 at first in far southeast, becoming variable 2 to 4, then becoming cyclonic 6 to gale 8, occasionally severe gale 9 later in northwest. Rough or very rough. Showers at first in northeast, otherwise mainly fair, then rain. Moderate or good becoming moderate or poor.

West Central Section

Variable 2 to 4 at first in east, otherwise cyclonic becoming southwesterly 5 to 7, increasing gale 8 at times, perhaps severe gale 9 later in far south and southeast. Rough or very rough, becoming very rough or high later in south and west. Rain, thundery at times, then squally wintry showers later in northwest. Moderate or poor, occasionally good at first in east.

Denmark Strait

Cyclonic mainly northeasterly 6 to gale 8, but 3 to 5 at first in southeast, then increasing gale 8 to storm 10 later in west. Moderate or rough. Snow at times. Good, occasionally very poor. Light or moderate icing within 150 miles of the greenland coast, with temperatures ms03 to ms06, but locally severe or very severe icing near the ice to the south of 70 north, with temperatures ms07 to ms10.

North Iceland

In far southeast

Cyclonic 3 to 5, occasionally 6 later. Moderate or rough. Sleet or snow at times. Good, occasionally very poor.

In the rest of the area

Northerly mainly 4 to 6, but 7 at first in far northeast, then becoming variable 2 to 4 in west. Moderate or rough. Fair at first in northwest, otherwise snow showers. Good, occasionally very poor. Light or moderate icing at times in west and north, with temperatures ms03 to ms06, but locally severe or very severe icing near the ice, with temperatures ms07 to ms10.

Norwegian Basin

In northwestern half of the area

Northeasterly 5 or 6 becoming variable 2 to 4, then becoming southwesterly 4 or 5 later in far northwest. Rough, becoming moderate later. Sleet or snow showers. Good, occasionally very poor.

In southeastern half of the area

Cyclonic 3 to 5, occasionally 6 at first in south, becoming variable 2 to 4 later. Rough at first in south, otherwise moderate. Sleet or snow showers, perhaps thundery. Good, occasionally very poor.

Violent storm force winds expected in East Northern Section. Storm force winds expected in West Northern Section and Denmark Strait. Severe gales expected in Shannon, Rockall, Bailey, Southeast Iceland, East Central Section and West Central Section. Gales expected in Sole, north Iceland and Norwegian Basin.
