Denmark Strait

Mainly northerly or northeasterly 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 at first within 100 miles of the greenland coast to the south of 70 north, but easterly or northeasterly 5 to 7 throughout in far southeast. Mainly very rough or high, but very high at first in south and becoming rough or very rough later. Sleet or snow at times. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor. Light or moderate icing at times within 100 miles of the greenland coast to the south of 70 north, with temperatures ms02 to ms05, but occasionally severe icing at first in far east between 69 north and 70 north, with temperatures ms06 to ms08.

North Iceland

In northwestern half of the area

Mainly cyclonic 4 to 6, but 7 or gale 8 at first in south. Moderate or rough in north, rough or very rough in south. Sleet, snow or freezing rain at times, then rain or drizzle later in south, with fog banks. Moderate to very poor, occasionally good. Light or moderate icing at times in far west, between 69 north and 71 north, with temperatures ms02 to ms05.

In southeastern half of the area

Cyclonic becoming southeasterly 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 until later. Rough or very rough, becoming high in far southeast. Snow showers at first in north, otherwise rain, sleet or snow at times, with fog patches. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor.

Norwegian Basin

Cyclonic becoming mainly southerly, 4 to 6, increasing 6 to gale 8 between 03 east and 06 east. Rough or very rough. Rain at times, fog patches in west. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor in west and poor in east.

Outlook for following 24 hours

Storm force winds expected in Denmark Strait and Norwegian Basin. Severe gales expected in Shannon, Rockall, Bailey, Faeroes, Southeast Iceland, East Northern Section, East Central Section and West Central Section, but with a risk of storm force winds later in the far northwest of West Central Section. Gales expected in West Northern Section and north Iceland, but with a risk of severe gales later in the far southwest of West Northern Section. Risk of gales in west Sole.
