Southeast Iceland

Variable 4 or less, but northwesterly 4 to 6 in north. Moderate, but slight in west, occasionally rough at first in northeast. Rain, fog patches. Good, occasionally very poor.

East Northern Section

Variable 2 to 4 at first in northeast, otherwise cyclonic 4 to 6, increasing 7 or gale 8 in southwest. Moderate or rough, occasionally slight in northeast, becoming very rough later in southwest. Rain spreading north, showers later in south. Moderate or good, occasionally poor.

West Northern Section

Northeasterly at first in north, otherwise cyclonic, 5 to 7. Moderate or rough, occasionally very rough at first in southwest and later in southeast. Rain or showers. Moderate or good, occasionally poor.

East Central Section

Variable 2 to 4 in far southeast, otherwise southwesterly 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 later in northwest. Moderate or rough, becoming very rough in northwest. Occasional rain or drizzle. Moderate or good, occasionally poor.

West Central Section

Westerly or southwesterly 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 later in northeast, but becoming variable 2 to 4 in southwest, then cyclonic 4 to 6 later in far southwest. Rough or very rough. Rain or drizzle at times, becoming mainly fair in northwest. Moderate or good, occasionally poor.

Denmark Strait

Northerly or northeasterly 5 to 7, increasing gale 8 for a time in north, becoming variable 2 or 3 at times near greenland coast. Moderate or rough, occasionally slight near greenland coast. Occasional rain or drizzle, with sleet and freezing rain near greenland coast in north, fog patches later in east. Moderate or good, occasionally poor, but very poor later in east.

North Iceland

In northwestern half of area

Northerly or northeasterly 4 to 6, occasionally 7 in southwest, becoming variable 3 or less in northwest. Slight or moderate, occasionally rough in southwest. Rain or drizzle with fog banks. Moderate to very poor.

Cyclonic at first in north, otherwise westerly or southwesterly 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 at first in north, backing southerly 4 to 6. Moderate or rough, occasionally very rough at first in north. Rain or drizzle in northwest, showers in southeast. Moderate or poor in northwest, good in southeast.
