Southeast Iceland

East Northern Section

Variable 2 to 4 at first in east, otherwise southeasterly 4 to 6, occasionally 7 later in southwest. Moderate or rough, occasionally slight in far north. Fair until later in northeast, elsewhere occasional rain and drizzle, fog patches for a time. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor for a time.

West Northern Section

East Central Section

Variable 3 or less at first in southeast, otherwise cyclonic, mainly southerly or southeasterly 4 to 6, occasionally 7 later in southwest. Moderate or rough. Occasional rain or drizzle, fog patches. Moderate to very poor, occasionally good in east.

West Central Section

Cyclonic 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 for a time in south, decreasing 3 or 4 later in north. Rough, occasionally moderate in north, and very rough at times in southwest. Rain or showers, fog patches in northeast. Moderate or good, occasionally poor, but very poor at times in northeast.

Denmark Strait

Variable, mainly northeasterly 2 to 4, becoming northerly or northeasterly 4 or 5 for a time in far southwest. Slight, occasionally moderate in south. Drizzle, extensive fog in west, becoming fog patches later, fair at times in east. Poor or very poor, occasionally moderate or good in east.

North Iceland

Northerly 3 to 5 but often variable 2 to 4. Slight, occasionally moderate in northeast and southeast. Drizzle and fog banks until later, fair at times later in east and north. Moderate to very poor, occasionally good in east and later in north.

Norwegian Basin
