West Central Section

Denmark Strait

Variable 2 to 4 at first in west near greenland, otherwise southerly or southwesterly 3 to 5, occasionally 6 later in east, but becoming variable 2 to 4 later in west. Slight or moderate. Drizzle except in far north, then rain later in south, fog banks, perhaps extensive fog at times to south of 70 north. Moderate to very poor, occasionally good in north, and also just north of iceland.

North Iceland

In northwestern half of the area

Variable 2 to 4 becoming southerly or southwesterly 3 to 5. Slight or moderate. Drizzle at times in south, fog banks, perhaps extensive fog at times. Moderate to very poor, occasionally good.

In southeastern half of the area

Northwesterly, backing southerly or southwesterly later, 3 to 5. Rough at first in far southeast, otherwise slight or moderate. Drizzle at times in south, fog patches. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor.

Norwegian Basin

Southwesterly 5 to 7 at first in east, otherwise northwesterly 4 to 6, becoming variable 3 or less later in west. Moderate or rough, becoming moderate later. Rain or drizzle at times, fog patches at first in west, becoming mainly fair later. Moderate or good, occasionally poor at first in east and very poor at first in west, becoming good later.

Gales expected in far west of West Northern Section. Risk of northwesterly piteraq gales later in far west of Denmark Strait.
