Southeasterly 3 at first in far northwest, otherwise cyclonic 4 to 6, occasionally 7 later near southern iceland. Slight at first in north, otherwise moderate or rough. Fair at first in far northwest, otherwise rain, drizzle or showers, perhaps thundery in south, fog patches except in far northwest. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor except in far northwest.

West Northern Section

In southeastern half of the area

Variable 2 to 4 in far southeast, but elsewhere northerly or northeasterly 4 to 6, backing northwesterly later in south. Slight at first in north, otherwise moderate or rough. Fair at first in north, otherwise rain, drizzle or showers, perhaps thundery, fog patches. Good at first in north, otherwise moderate or good, occasionally very poor.

In northwestern half of the area

Mainly variable 2 to 4, but in far south, northerly 5 or 6, backing northwesterly 4 or 5 later. Slight or moderate in north, moderate or rough in south. Mainly fair. Good.

East Central Section

In eastern half of the area

Southerly or southwesterly 4 or 5, occasionally 6 in north. Moderate or rough. Rain, drizzle or showers, thundery at times, fog patches at first in north. Moderate or good, becoming poor at times, but occasionally very poor at first in north.

In western half of the area

Cyclonic mainly southwesterly 4 to 6, occasionally 7 at first in north. Rough, occasionally moderate later. Rain, drizzle or showers, thundery at times, fog patches in north. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor in north and poor in south.

West Central Section

In far northeast

Cyclonic 4 to 6. Moderate or rough. Rain, drizzle or showers, perhaps thundery, fog patches. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor.

In the rest of the area

Westerly or northwesterly 4 to 6, occasionally 7 at first in north, decreasing 2 or 3 later in far southwest. Rough, occasionally very rough at first in north and east, becoming moderate later in south and west. Rain or showers, but becoming fair in southwest. Moderate or good, occasionally poor at first in north.

In area to the south of 70 north

Southwesterly 3 to 5 becoming variable 3 or less, then becoming northeasterly 3 to 5 later in southeast. Slight or moderate. Occasional rain later in far southeast, fog patches at first, fog banks later. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor.

In area to the north of 70 north

Variable 2 to 4 becoming southeasterly 3 to 5, then backing easterly later. Smooth or slight becoming slight or moderate. Occasional rain or drizzle later, fog patches. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor.

North Iceland

In far northeast of the area

Northwesterly 4 to 6. Moderate or rough. Occasional rain or sleet. Good, occasionally poor.

In the rest of the area

Variable, but mainly southwesterly in south, 2 to 4, becoming southerly or southeasterly 3 to 5. Slight or moderate. Mainly fair, then rain in southeast, and occasional rain or drizzle later in far northwest, fog banks developing in south and west. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor in south and west and poor in east and north.

Norwegian Basin

Westerly or southwesterly 4 to 6, occasionally 7 at first in northeast, then backing southeasterly later in south and west. Moderate or rough in north, moderate throughout in south. Showers at first in far northeast, otherwise fair, but then rain in western and central areas. Moderate or good, becoming moderate or poor later in west.
