Denmark Strait

Northerly or northeasterly 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 in east, but becoming variable 2 to 4 within 100 miles of the greenland coast to the south of 69 north. Moderate or rough, becoming rough or very rough later in far east. Snow showers, mainly in east and south. Good, occasionally very poor in east and south. Light or moderate icing, with temperatures ms02 to ms05, but severe icing developing later in east near the ice, with temperatures ms06 to ms09.

North Iceland

Cyclonic mainly northerly or northeasterly, 5 to 7 in north but 7 to severe gale 9 in south, occasionally storm 10 later in far south just east of Iceland. Moderate at first in north, otherwise rough or very rough, but becoming high in south. Snow showers in north and west, then rain or snow in southeast spreading northwestwards, fog patches in far southeast, moderate or good, occasionally very poor. Light or moderate icing in northwestern half of the area, with temperatures ms02 to ms05, but severe icing developing later near the ice, with temperatures ms06 to ms09.

In area to the west of 05 east

Southerly or southeasterly gale 8 to storm 10, occasionally violent storm 11 in southeast, becoming cyclonic 6 to gale 8 later in far west. High or very high. Rain. Poor.

In area to the east of 05 east

Southeasterly 6 to gale 8, occasionally severe gale 9 in far northeast. Rough or very rough. Mainly fair. Moderate or good.

Outlook for following 24 hours

Violent storm force winds expected in West Central Section. Storm force winds expected in Southeast Iceland, West Northern Section, north Iceland and Norwegian Basin. Severe gales expected in Faeroes and Denmark Strait, but with a risk of storm force winds later in far east of Denmark Strait. Gales expected in Bailey, East Northern Section and East Central Section. Risk of gales in west Sole.
