Winds will reach storm force 10 between 50 and 400 miles from the centre in the southwest quadrant until 192100UTC and between 150 and 350 miles from the centre in the southwest quadrant after 192100UTC. Winds will also reach violent storm force 11 at times between 50 and 250 miles from the centre in the southwest quadrant until 192100UTC. In addition, westerly or northwesterly winds will also reach storm force 10 at times to the south of 49 north in West Central Section until 191500UTC. Also, northerly or northeasterly winds will reach storm force 10 at times between 68 north and 70 north in Denmark Strait until 191200UTC, and in the far southwest of Denmark Strait and far northwest of West Northern Section after 192100UTC. Finally, southerly or southwesterly winds will reach storm force 10 at times within 50 miles of the Norwegian coast between 62 north and 64 north until 191300UTC

Cyclonic 6 to gale 8, occasionally severe gale 9 later in far south. Very rough or high, becoming very high later in far southwest. Rain then squally showers, wintry at times. Moderate or poor.

West Northern Section

In area to the north of 60 north

Easterly or northeasterly becoming cyclonic, 6 to gale 8, decreasing 3 to 5 later in east but becoming northeasterly gale 8 to storm 10 later in far northwest. Rough or very rough becoming very rough or high. Rain, sleet or wintry showers, with snow at times in west. Moderate or good, occasionally poor in east and very poor in west.

Cyclonic becoming northwesterly mainly gale 8 to storm 10, but 6 or 7 at first in east and occasionally violent storm 11 at first in north. Very rough or high becoming high or very high. Squally sleet or snow showers. Poor or very poor, occasionally moderate at first.

East Central Section

Southerly or southwesterly veering westerly or northwesterly, 6 to gale 8, increasing severe gale 9 at times, but mainly 5 at first in southeast. Very rough or high, becoming very high later in far northwest. Rain or squally showers, becoming wintry. Moderate or poor.

West Central Section

Southerly or southwesterly at first in far east, otherwise westerly or northwesterly, 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 at first, decreasing 6 at times later in west. Very rough or high becoming high or very high. Rain at first in far east, perhaps thundery, otherwise squally sleet or snow showers, but becoming mainly fair later in far southwest. Moderate or poor, occasionally very poor.

Denmark Strait

Northerly or northeasterly mainly 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 at first between 68 north and 70 north, and also later in far southwest, decreasing 6 at times in southeast. Rough or very rough, becoming very rough or high in west. Sleet or snow at times, then rain developing in southeast. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor. Light or moderate icing at times within 100 miles of the greenland coast, with temperatures ms02 to ms04.

North Iceland

In northwestern half of the area

Northerly or northeasterly 6 to gale 8, occasionally severe gale 9 at first in far west, decreasing 3 to 5 later in north. Rough or very rough, becoming moderate later in north. Sleet, snow or freezing rain at times, but becoming fair in north. Moderate to very poor, but becoming mainly good in north. Light or moderate icing in west, with temperatures ms02 to ms05.

In southeastern half of the area

Variable 2 to 4, becoming easterly or southeasterly 4 to 6 in south. Rough or very rough at first in east, otherwise moderate or rough. Occasional rain, fog banks. Moderate to very poor, occasionally good.

Norwegian Basin

In western half of the area

Southwesterly 7 to severe gale 9 at first in southeast, otherwise cyclonic 4 to 6, becoming variable 2 to 4 later. Very rough becoming rough. Rain or showers then fair. Moderate or good, occasionally poor at first.

In eastern half of the area

Southeasterly 6 to gale 8 at first in north, otherwise southwesterly 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 at first within 50 miles of the Norwegian coast between 62 north and 64 north, veering westerly or northwesterly 6 to gale 8 later, and then decreasing 3 to 5 later in south and west. Very rough or high becoming rough or very rough. Rain then squally showers, becoming fair later in south. Moderate or poor becoming moderate or good.

Outlook for following 24 hours

Storm force winds expected in West Northern Section and Denmark Strait. Severe gales expected in Sole, Shannon, Rockall, East Northern Section, East Central Section and West Central Section. Gales expected in Bailey. Risk of gales at first in far northeast of Norwegian Basin.
