General situation

A deep low northwest Scotland will bring widespread strong winds to the coastal waters, with gales in the north and storms at first in northwest Scotland this morning. As the low moves away by tomorrow, a front will move east over the British Isles bringing further strong winds to the coastal waters, with gales for a time in the west.

Cape Wrath to Rattray Head including Orkney - Strong wind warning

Channel Islands - Strong wind warning

24 hour forecast: South to southwest 4 to 5, perhaps locally 6 mid-channel at first, veering west 3 to 4 by early evening, backing south by midnight, increasing 4 to 5 later. Slight to moderate with low to moderate swell, but rather rough in the northwest at first.
