General situation

A ridge of high pressure will gradually decline southwards on Friday, allowing a strong westerly flow and more unsettled weather to affect northern waters. During Saturday, a stronger and cooler northwesterly flow will spread to all parts.

Cape Wrath to Rattray Head including Orkney - Strong wind warning

24 hour forecast: Southwesterly 4 to 6, occasionally 7 later in far northwest. Slight or moderate, but moderate or rough in far northwest. Occasional drizzle, rain later. Moderate or good, occasionally poor later in north.
