General situation
The United Kingdom will lie in an east to southeasterly airflow during Tuesday, with an area of low pressure moving slowly northwards towards southwestern England. This will bring occasional rain or thundery showers to southern waters, although the north will remain fair. Strong winds will continue to affect southern areas.
Cape Wrath to Rattray Head including Orkney
24 hour forecast: Variable 3 or less at first in inner Moray Firth and in northwest, otherwise southeasterly 3 to 5. Mainly slight or moderate in north, smooth or slight in south, and later also to the east of Orkney. Mainly fair. Good.
