Today:

A mostly dry start to the day then remaining cloudy with showers developing through the morning. Some of these showers will become heavy with a chance of hail and thunder in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Tonight:

A few showers will continue through the evening, these heavy and thundery in places. These showers will slowly ease overnight but the odd one will linger until dawn. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Monday:

A cloudy start with a few showers, perhaps heavy in places. Becoming mainly dry and bright by the afternoon but some rain will spread into the west later. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A unsettled period with sunny spells and further showers, heavy at times. A spell of wet and windy weather on Wednesday.

Likely remaining unsettled with most areas seeing some showers or longer spells of rain at times, with the main focus for these across northern and western areas. Potential for some strong and gusty winds at times. Some drier and more settled interludes could develop, perhaps becoming longer in duration across southern areas later in this period. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Signals are fairly limited from mid-September onward. At first, probably a continuation of a changeable regime with the wettest conditions in the northwest and longer drier interludes in the southeast. However, the distribution of rainfall soon becomes very unclear, although compared to earlier in the month there is a greater chance of more prolonged settled/dry spells. Temperatures likely varying around average with some warm spells likely, especially in the south.
