Mainly dry but rain early and late. Windy, cold.

Today:

A cloudy start with patchy rain, mainly in county Down, but becoming dry and bright through the day with a few sunny spells. Strong northeast winds, gales along the Down coast. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Dry to start, but becoming overcast through the evening with some mostly light rain spreading into the southeast. Strong east to northeast winds continue, gales along the Down coast. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Saturday:

It will start off windy with outbreaks of rain in the morning. Winds will ease and it will become drier through the day, but staying cloudy. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Mainly dry and bright on Sunday with a frost possible at night. A scattering of showers on Monday and Tuesday.

Colder conditions, already affecting the far north of the UK are likely to extend south to affect all pasts through the early part of the period. Initially we may see some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west. It is as this clears later Tuesday that the colder conditions will extend south, bringing some snow showers into northern parts, and the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall likely to return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
