Today:

A rather cloudy start to the day with a few light showers about, chiefly across southern districts, but these should die away by late morning with brighter spells building into the dry afternoon. Light winds. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

A dry night with late sunshine then clear spells, though higher cloud increasing overnight. Winds increasing to a fresh southeasterly across the coasts towards dawn. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Monday:

A dry morning with hazy sunshine. Cloud increasing during the afternoon to bring some patchy light rain from late evening. East to southeast breezes. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Unsettled with a series of rain bands crossing from the west. However, with winds staying southwesterly temperatures a little up on the seasonal averages.

There is the possibility of some hot and humid weather across parts of south and southeast Britain at the start of this period and with it comes the chance of a few thunderstorms too. To the northwest of here, generally more changeable at first, but there is a signal for high pressure to build more widely as we move towards the latter part of June. This could bring more widely drier, settled conditions with temperatures probably remaining above average for most. There is chance however that the hot conditions, initially in the south could either linger here or, having waned for a time, return northwards accompanied by a thunderstorm risk; this all dependent on the orientation of the aforementioned high pressure.

High pressure is expected to lie close to the UK at the start of this period, bringing largely settled and dry conditions. Temperatures will likely be above normal, with the potential for hot conditions to develop, especially in the south. Further into July, the influence of high pressure may weaken or shift more to the north or west of the UK, bringing an increasing chance of more unsettled weather and thunderstorms, especially in the south. Temperatures will probably ease back closer to normal too, although some warm and humid spells remain possible at times.
