As we approach year end, 2025 is on track to be one of the UK’s warmest years on record, joining 2022 and 2023 in the top three warmest years.

Today:

It will be a dry day with patchy cloud and some sunny spells in the morning. Through the afternoon cloud breaking up to give longer sunny spells. Light winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

It will be a dry and settled night with clear spells at first. More in the way of cloud will tend to feed in from the east through the night. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Thursday:

A dry day with patchy cloud and some sunny spells. Easterly winds freshening at times to give a chilly feel. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

High pressure will continue to bring settled and largely dry conditions. Often rather cloudy, but some sunnier spells are possible at times.

UK long range weather forecast

High pressure is likely to dominate across the UK at the start of this period and through to the end of the year. This means that weather conditions will be largely settled and for many places it will remain dry. It may often be rather cloudy, but any rainfall that does develop is expected to be light with overall accumulations small. Winds will mostly be light with temperatures close to or slightly below normal. Into 2026, little change is anticipated through the first week of January, with settled and mainly dry conditions continuing for many parts of the UK. However, there is a small chance that more unsettled, wetter and milder weather could develop at times, particularly in the north.

High pressure will probably lie close to the UK through much of this period and bring a large amount of dry and settled weather, especially in the south, with rainfall most likely in the north.
