It will be bright with sunny spells and just a few isolated light showers over northern counties in the morning, becoming dry in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Dry at first with some bright spells but becoming cloudy through the evening and overnight with some patchy light rain and freshening southerly winds. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Sunday:

Cloudy but mostly dry morning, some showery rain spreads east in the afternoon and evening. Strong southerly winds with a chance of coastal gales, winds easing somewhat in the evening. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Bright start Monday then occasionally heavy rain or showers and becoming windy. Windy Tuesday with further occasionally heavy rain or showers. Mostly dry with bright spells on Wednesday.

Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional outbreaks of rain or showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. A trend toward some longer dry interludes between systems as we head toward mid-September, but at this stage a return of prolonged dry, settled weather looks unlikely. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, though still with some relatively cool nights at times.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
