Today:

Another mostly dry and bright day and becoming hot, especially in the south. Some rain for a time over north Argyll with some mist and sea fog around the Islands. Maximum temperature 29 °C.

Tonight:

It will stay dry through the evening and overnight with some evening sunshine but becoming increasingly cloudy through the evening and overnight. Minimum temperature 14 °C.

Saturday:

A largely cloudy start. Staying quite cloudy for many, with the best of the sunshine on the west coast. Still warm but a bit less so than recent days. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Cloudy start Sunday then brightening up with sunny intervals. Monday and Tuesday dry and sunny. Very warm in the west.

High pressure initially situated to the north of the UK with low pressure over the Bay of Biscay starts the period with broadly settled weather for much of the UK. There will, however, be a risk of thunderstorms spreading into the south of the UK from France at times. Through the weekend potentially turning more unsettled with some rain or showers and thunderstorms at times as low pressure and a more northerly wind affect the UK at times. Temperatures will be warm or very warm for most, perhaps hot at times in the southwest initially, likely easing to warm or near average into the weekend, though further hot spells possible between systems.

The signal through the end of July and into August becomes increasingly mixed with spells of low pressure and more unsettled weather becoming more likely. There may still be some thunderstorms at times as well. There will still probably be some dry interludes, most probably in the south and southeast. Temperatures are likely to remain warm or very warm and some spells of hot weather remain possible.
