Another very mild, though fairly cloudy day on Wednesday with patchy rain in the west. Cooling down thereafter and turning more unsettled, with rain and strong winds possible at times.

Changeable conditions are expected, with Atlantic frontal systems spreading across the UK, interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Rainfall will typically be heaviest in the northwest, with much less reaching sheltered eastern areas. Some snow is possible across high ground in the north. Drier and more settled periods perhaps become more prolonged later in the period, especially in the east. Winds will probably be strong at times, with a risk of gales. Temperatures are likely to be near to or slightly above average.
