Today:

A dry, warm and sunny start to the day. Turning even hotter as the day goes on with extreme heat continuing along with high humidity. Perhaps some high cloud moving in at times in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 38 °C.

Tonight:

Staying very warm and humid overnight. Dry for most but elevated thunderstorms moving into the south. Could turn gusty for some with the odd rumble of thunder. Minimum temperature 17 °C.

Friday:

Although temperatures falling, staying very warm with humidity levels remaining high. Clear skies in the north but low cloud moving into the southwest. Maximum temperature 32 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Staying hot into the weekend, but temperatures slowly coming down by Sunday. Dry for many but some spots of rain and showers developing into the new week.

Fairly changeable conditions at first with periods of rain and showers, and there could be some thundery outbreaks at times. The best of the drier and brighter weather initially will be across the southeast. Then perhaps a drier start to July for many, although the northwest may still see some rain at times, and perhaps accompanied by some strong winds. Temperatures are likely to be near average in the north and slightly warmer than average in the south, but with winds generally from the west temperatures aren't expected to be as hot as seen recently.

High pressure patterns are looking slightly more likely than low pressure patterns during the early part of this period, meaning a greater chance of settled and drier than average conditions. Although with outbreaks of rain and stronger winds at times, more especially across the north. There is still a chance of some changeable or more unsettled conditions developing later in the period, with a risk of some heavy and thundery showers. Temperatures are likely to be above normal on the whole, with a greater than normal chance of hot conditions developing at times.
