This Evening and Tonight:

Scattered showers will become confined to coastal areas through this evening, with mostly dry conditions developing inland. Briefly cooler beneath clear skies before cloud thickens from the west, bringing widespread rain by dawn. Becoming windy, especially along the coasts. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Tuesday:

Widely unsettled with persistent rain moving in from the southwest, heavy at times through the afternoon, making for challenging driving conditions. Windy too, with coastal gales possible, but remaining mild. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Remaining unsettled throughout this week. Further periods of rain are likely, occasionally heavy and persistent for some, interspersed with some drier, clearer intervals. Staying breezy and feeling colder by Friday.

Many central and northern parts of the UK will likely be in a colder but drier regime than of late with overnight frosts, and a few showers near windward coasts in particular which may be wintry on high ground. However, it could remain cloudier, milder and wetter initially across some southern and southwestern areas, with some uncertainty as to how quickly this clears away to the south. It is most likely that the bulk of the UK will experience drier and colder conditions into the first part of next week. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall may return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
