Heatwave continues today with further hot and sunny weather.

Today:

Early mist and low cloud will quickly burn away to leave a sunny day. Dry for many, but there is a small chance of the odd thunderstorm developing later in the day. Feeling hot with high levels of UV expected. Maximum temperature 34 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining dry this evening with plenty of late evening sunshine. Overnight may see a few mist patches reform but most remaining clear. Staying warm with temperatures only slowly falling away. Minimum temperature 16 °C.

Saturday:

The heatwave continues on Saturday with another dry and sunny day. Feeling hot with high UV but perhaps a more notable breeze developing later in the day. Maximum temperature 33 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Remaining largely dry and sunny throughout, although a small chance of the odd thunderstorm developing from Monday. Staying hot, although an easterly breeze will bring a little relief in places.

High pressure initially situated to the north of the UK with low pressure over the Bay of Biscay starts the period with broadly settled weather for much of the UK. There will, however, be a risk of thunderstorms spreading into the south of the UK from France at times. Through the weekend potentially turning more unsettled with some rain or showers and thunderstorms at times as low pressure and a more northerly wind affect the UK at times. Temperatures will be warm or very warm for most, perhaps hot at times in the southwest initially, likely easing to warm or near average into the weekend, though further hot spells possible between systems.

The signal through the end of July and into August becomes increasingly mixed with spells of low pressure and more unsettled weather becoming more likely. There may still be some thunderstorms at times as well. There will still probably be some dry interludes, most probably in the south and southeast. Temperatures are likely to remain warm or very warm and some spells of hot weather remain possible.
