There will still be a lot of cloud around on Saturday with outbreaks of light and patchy drizzle developing from the south. The best of any sunshine likely in the far west of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. Feeling a little milder. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy overnight with further outbreaks of patch rain and drizzle, however some heavier bursts are likely to develop and move northwards, before becoming more extensive later in the night. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday:

Remaining cloudy on Sunday with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. These tending to transfer northwards during the day. Some brighter spells possible later in the south. Near normal temperatures. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloudy for most, staying largely dry with occasional showers. Mild in sunny breaks. Turning wetter and windier from the west on Wednesday, with periods of rain developing.

The first part of this period will continue to see the UK located at the interface between high pressure across Europe and low pressure over the North Atlantic. As such, western areas will likely see spells of rain at times, along with stronger winds, whereas eastern parts should see more in the way of drier interludes, though even here, some rain is possible from time to time. Towards the middle of March, there is a signal for unsettled conditions to perhaps become more widespread, with all parts seeing a higher chance of rain and stronger winds. Throughout, temperatures should overall be a little above average for most areas.

The start of this period could see unsettled conditions fairly widely across the UK, with spells of rain and strong winds affecting many areas at times, although western areas likely remain wettest. Then, whilst confidence in the details is low, there is the potential for weather patterns to become slower-moving by late March, with unsettled weather possibly becoming more confined to parts of the south west, as areas towards the north turn drier. Overall, temperatures will probably end up near to average, and at present there are indications of a cooler spell towards the turn of the month.
