A windy day with the potential for some disruption. Heavy showers merging into longer periods of rain at times. Strong northwesterly winds with gales or severe gales. Feeling much colder. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Showers on Friday, these heavy at times. Brighter with fewer showers and sunny spells on Saturday. Cloudier with some rain later on Sunday. Windy at times and feeling rather cold.

A changeable start to the period with bands of rain from the Atlantic moving across the country. at times. The wettest and windiest conditions are likely to be across the northwest with some decent drier interludes across the south and east. Around the turn of the month or into early November, wetter and windier conditions across the north and west are likely to extend more widely across the country. It is somewhat uncertain when this will occur with high pressure attempting to maintain some influence across the southeast maintaining more settled conditions here. Temperatures will be a little below average at the start of the period, likely trending upwards with potential for a mild spell around the turn of the month.

Changeable and unsettled at first with weather systems moving in from the west. These will bring spells of rain to most areas, heavy at times, with a risk of strong winds. Drier and brighter interludes are likely between systems. Conditions may become more settled and mainly dry towards the end of this period. Temperatures are expected to be close to normal or slightly above.
