Staying largely dry across Wales today with fine spells of sunshine. There is a small chance of the odd shower in the afternoon, but staying dry and pleasantly warm for many. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Tonight:

Skies remaining clear at first tonight, and turning chilly. A few mist and fog patches possible. Cloud increasing a little towards the end of the night. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday:

A dry but largely cloudy start on Sunday. Heavy and persistent rain will arrive later, with strengthening winds. Mild but feeling cooler in the rain. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Some pleasant spells of warm sunshine on Monday with light winds. Strengthening winds on Tuesday and unseasonably warm, some rain later. Fresher and breezy on Wednesday with sunshine and showers.

Remaining changeable as Atlantic frontal systems bring spells of rain, showers and occasional strong winds. The wettest and windiest conditions will tend to be most frequent across western areas, with longer drier interludes most favoured in the far east and southeast, where it may be very warm at times. Into October, high pressure to the northeast of the UK may become more influential on the weather, with some longer drier interludes focussed more across the north and northeast of the UK, whilst occasional rain may tend to be more prevalent towards the south and west. Temperatures are expected to be above average for the period as a whole.

Initially, high pressure may be centred to the north or northeast, with longer drier periods more likely across northern UK, whilst low pressure to the southwest brings occasional rain or showers into more southern and western parts. Towards and beyond mid-October, it may turn more widely unsettled with a greater chance of wet and windy conditions at times. Temperatures will likely be above average for the period as a whole.
