A little damp in places first thing with some light drizzle possible. Most places staying dry though with increasing amounts of warm sunshine developing by this afternoon. Slightly breezier than yesterday. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Tonight:

A mainly sunny evening followed by a dry night with largely clear skies. Turning rather chilly, especially in the countryside, where a few localised fog patches may form later. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Thursday:

A cool start but quickly warming up in the strong August sunshine. Some cloud is likely at times but feeling warm in the sunshine with lighter winds than on Wednesday. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

High pressure will bring a settled picture through this period. Remaining dry with a mixture of cloud and sunny periods. Chilly nights at first but feeling warm in the sunshine.

High pressure is likely to be the dominant feature at first, which would bring widely fine and dry weather for the Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend. Whilst this is happening, low pressure in the Atlantic is expected to bring a change in weather to the UK, though the timing of any specific features is currently uncertain. From early to mid-week, high pressure is likely to become increasingly eroded from the west as areas of low pressure and frontal systems start to move in from the Atlantic, leading to more changeable conditions with spells of rain through the remainder of the week and the following weekend. Temperatures likely warm or very warm to start before quickly trending towards average.
