An isolated morning shower is possible in the far west. Otherwise it will be a sunny start to the weekend. Cloud bubbles up for a time by the afternoon, then sunnier again later. Feeling cool in light, generally northerly winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Any lingering cloud dissipating through the evening to leave long clear spells during the overnight period. Frost and isolated fog patches possible in prone locations by the morning. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Sunday:

Another sunny start on Sunday, with patchy cloud once again bubbling up during the day. A low chance of isolated showers in the far east. Remaining chilly, with light winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Showers move westwards across the country through Monday, clearing later. A dry interlude follows, before more rain develops on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures nearer average, though possibly windy later.

It is looking increasingly likely that a changeable if not unsettled spell of weather will affect the UK through this period, with spells of wet and windy weather arriving from the Atlantic followed by drier though still showery interludes. While there is still a chance that high pressure will build near the UK again during late October, it is more likely that the changeable or unsettled regime will continue once established. It is possible that stormy weather may also develop at times. Temperatures are likely to be near or a little above normal overall, with mild spells likely at times, especially towards the south. In between frontal systems, colder nights are possible, with a touch of frost.

This period is highly uncertain, more so than normal, but overall it seems more likely than not that weather patterns will be dominated by westerly or southwesterly winds from the Atlantic during this period. This will result in occasional spells of wet and windy weather followed by drier but still showery interludes. High pressure may attempt to build across the country at times but any settled spells are most likely to be short-lived. Temperatures are likely to be near or above average overall.
