A frosty, cold but bright start. Sunshine turning increasingly hazy through the day before further rain arrives from the west by the evening. Much lighter winds, though freshening again later. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Wet and windy weather with hill snow clearing Saturday night and into Sunday with blustery showers following. Sunshine and showers on Monday then somewhat drier on Tuesday. Winds easing again.

Some heavy rain is likely in places, with some snow at times in the north, mainly on high ground. Temperatures varying from around average to cold at times, especially in the north. While unsettled weather is likely to dominate, there will be some drier interludes between weather systems. Later in the period, there is a chance that more prolonged drier and settled conditions may begin to develop.
