A cloudy start for most with the odd shower. Brightening up for some by the afternoon but heavy slow-moving showers may develop across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. Feeling somewhat cooler in the light breeze. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Showers continuing overnight, heaviest in the southwest. Some clear spells in places but temperatures staying above freezing for most areas, but a patchy frost developing in rural spots. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Thursday:

A mostly dry start to the day but more cloud developing through the morning which will develop into further showers into the afternoon. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Scattered showers on Friday, mainly in the afternoons, but staying dry for some. Longer periods of rain are possible on Saturday and Sunday. Turning warmer after chilly nights at first.

Changeable and at times rather unsettled conditions look to dominate through the middle part of May, with low pressure often close by. This means periods of rain or showers, some of which could be heavy, for many places, though some drier interludes are also expected. For the most part, temperatures are likely to be close to or perhaps a little below normal, though depending on the position of low pressure relative to the UK, there is the chance of brief warmer mroe humid interludes extending north from the near continent. With this would be the chance of some thunderstorms, these most likely affecting parts of England and Wales.

Low pressure systems are likely to dominate across the UK at the start of this period. This means showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, heavy in places, with the wettest conditions probably towards the northwest. There will, however, probably be some dry and warm interludes, these more likely towards the south, although temperatures are likely to be close to normal overall. Later in the period, more settled and drier conditions may develop, as high pressure potentially establishes itself to the north or west of the UK, with temperatures perhaps rising a little above normal, especially in the west or northwest. Should this happen, eastern parts may be on the cool side with a predominant flow off the North Sea.
