Fine into the evening, with some late sunshine giving way to overnight clear periods, although perhaps becoming cloudier in the west later. Winds gradually easing, with a slight grass frost perhaps developing in one or two prone rural areas. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday:

A fine start, eventually very warm with sunshine. Cloudier conditions and some rain or showers will make gradual inroads from the west later, perhaps culminating in some thundery showers locally. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

More unsettled than recently, with rain or showers, some thundery. Gradually turning cooler. Sunny spells remain possible, but also showers, these showers becoming lighter and further between into next week.

A fairly quiet start to the period looks likely with many areas seeing a good deal of dry weather. That said we are unlikely to see a return of the completely dry and warm weather we have see in recent days, with clear or sunny periods and showers more likely. Toward the latter part of the period a trend toward more changeable weather is favoured although there should still be some drier intervals. Overall temperatures likely close to or a little below average at first, especially in the north, then returning close to average or rather warm later.

Low pressure systems are likely to dominate across the UK at the start of this period. This means showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, heavy in places. There will, however, be some dry and warm interludes, although temperatures are likely to be close to normal overall. Later in the month, more settled and drier conditions may begin to develop, with temperatures perhaps rising slightly above normal.
