Today:

A dry start to the day with some hazy sunshine. Showers then developing in the afternoon but most places remaining dry with sunny spells. Still warm for the time of year although temperatures significantly down compared to previous days. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Any showers should quickly dissipate. A dry and clear night to follow with the wind easing light. Remaining mild in urban areas but much cooler in rural spots. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Monday:

A dry morning with hazy sunshine. The cloud thickens throughout the day with areas seeing some rain by the afternoon. Rain becoming widespread and heavier by the evening and overnight. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A grey and wet start for some on Tuesday with showers to follow. Settled start to Wednesday but turning wet and windy later on with further blustery showers on Thursday.

Atlantic low pressure systems will continue to push showers or longer spells of rain east across the UK. The best of the drier conditions are usually more likely towards the south and east, with more frequent rain across the west and northwest. Drier weather may start to become more dominant through the second week of June. Temperatures will be near-normal overall, with the warmest spots most likely across eastern areas. It will also be breezy at times, especially across western parts, and notably so around some coastal areas.

Drier and more settled weather may develop as high pressure becomes more dominant, although some showery interludes are still possible. The forecast turns more mixed towards the end of the month, with rain and showers perhaps having more of an influence. Temperatures likely to trend above average as we head further into June, with very warm spells possible in places.
