A largely fine day, with early cloud breaking to good sunny spells. Cloud then thickens again through afternoon, with a few showers developing later, perhaps heavy. These most likely in the west or into southern coasts. Breezy, especially along coasts. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Tonight:

Staying rather breezy with scattered showers spreading east overnight. These could be heavy at times, before gradually easing around dawn. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Monday:

A fine start, with sunny spells. Scattered showers then developing, the odd one perhaps heavy and thundery, before easing as cloud thickens from the west later in the afternoon. Breezy. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Mostly dry Tuesday, although a few showers around. Rather windy Wednesday, with outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy. Likely drier Thursday, but still windy. Daytime temperatures near normal, but warm overnight.

Likely remaining unsettled with most areas seeing some showers or longer spells of rain at times, with the main focus for these across northern and western areas, the best of any longer dry spells across the southeast. Potential for some strong and gusty winds at times, again the northwest more prone to these. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Signals are fairly limited from mid-September onward. At first, probably a continuation of a changeable regime with the wettest conditions in the northwest and longer drier interludes in the southeast. However, the distribution of rainfall soon becomes very unclear, although compared to earlier in the month there is a greater chance of more prolonged settled/dry spells. Temperatures likely varying around average with some warm spells likely, especially in the south.
