Rather cloudy this morning with a chance of rain at times moving eastwards. Rain clearing by very early afternoon bringing widespread very warm sunshine to the region and an increasingly humid feel. Winds light or moderate. Maximum temperature 27 °C.

Tonight:

Fine and dry this evening. A muggy night to come for most and many places staying dry overnight, however a few isolated spots of rain are possible after midnight. Minimum temperature 15 °C.

Monday:

A widely dry and bright start. Probably cloudier with an increased chance of showers from mid-morning to mid-afternoon but still very warm. Rain spreading eastwards overnight into Tuesday. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Rain clearing Tuesday with fresher, brighter conditions developing. Wednesday, mainly dry and bright then potentially turning wet and rather breezy on Thursday. Temperatures around average for early September.

Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional outbreaks of rain or showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. A trend toward some longer dry interludes between systems as we head toward mid-September, but at this stage a return of prolonged dry, settled weather looks unlikely. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, though still with some relatively cool nights at times.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
