Fine and very warm much of Friday, with rain later.

Today:

Another fine start and soon feeling very warm in the sunshine. Cloudier conditions developing through the afternoon, with perhaps some rain or showers making gradual inroads from the west later, perhaps culminating in some thundery showers locally. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Tonight:

Any rain or thundery showers will soon clear eastwards, leaving a mostly dry night. Variable cloud overnight and mild, with a few mist or fog patches possible by dawn. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Saturday:

Variable cloud and sunny spells are expected on Saturday. Isolated showers are possible during the day, but many places dry, with rain or thundery showers perhaps developing more widely later. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

More unsettled than recently, with rain or showers, some thundery. Gradually turning cooler. More sunny spells from Monday, but still also showers, these becoming lighter and further between on Tuesday.

A fairly quiet start to the period looks likely with many areas seeing a good deal of dry weather. That said we are unlikely to see a return of the completely dry and warm weather we have see in recent days, with clear or sunny periods and showers more likely. Toward the latter part of the period a trend toward more changeable weather is favoured although there should still be some drier intervals. Overall temperatures likely close to or a little below average at first, especially in the north, then returning close to average or rather warm later.

Low pressure systems are likely to dominate across the UK at the start of this period. This means showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, heavy in places. There will, however, be some dry and warm interludes, although temperatures are likely to be close to normal overall. Later in the month, more settled and drier conditions may begin to develop, with temperatures perhaps rising slightly above normal.
