A fine, dry and locally warm day for the bulk of the area with sunny spells building into the afternoon. However some early showers may appear across Argyll. Light winds. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

A dry night with clear spells, though lower cloud building through the central Belt overnight. Winds light and variable in direction. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Monday:

Another generally fair days weather in prospect with most dry with periods of sunshine widespread through the morning, before turning hazy from the west during the afternoon. Winds light. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A change to more unsettled conditions with a series of rain bands crossing from the west. However, with winds staying southwesterly temperatures a little up on the seasonal averages.

There is the possibility of some hot and humid weather across parts of south and southeast Britain at the start of this period and with it comes the chance of a few thunderstorms too. To the northwest of here, generally more changeable at first, but there is a signal for high pressure to build more widely as we move towards the latter part of June. This could bring more widely drier, settled conditions with temperatures probably remaining above average for most. There is chance however that the hot conditions, initially in the south could either linger here or, having waned for a time, return northwards accompanied by a thunderstorm risk; this all dependent on the orientation of the aforementioned high pressure.

High pressure is expected to lie close to the UK at the start of this period, bringing largely settled and dry conditions. Temperatures will likely be above normal, with the potential for hot conditions to develop, especially in the south. Further into July, the influence of high pressure may weaken or shift more to the north or west of the UK, bringing an increasing chance of more unsettled weather and thunderstorms, especially in the south. Temperatures will probably ease back closer to normal too, although some warm and humid spells remain possible at times.
