There will be the odd light shower around North Argyll and the Isles at first. Otherwise it will be a dry with sunny spells by day. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Dry in the evening with clear spells. Clouding over from the southwest overnight with some outbreaks of rain and freshening south to southeast winds. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Monday:

It will be cloudy with mostly patchy light rain by day, but the rain turning heavier in the evening. Occasionally strong winds around the coast. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Early rain clearing Tuesday morning, then sunshine and showers, windy at times. Very windy Wednesday with coastal gales, clouding over with occasionally heavy rain later, this clearing later Thursday.

The weather is expected to remain changeable. Low pressure systems will continue to run across the North Atlantic, often to the north and northwest of the UK, bringing occasional bands of rain and strong winds, interspersed with brighter and more showery conditions. Rain will be most prevalent across hills in the west and northwest, where above average rainfall is likely through this period. Longer drier interludes are more favoured in southern and eastern parts, but even here there will probably be more rain over the period compared to recent weeks. Whilst brief cooler interludes and early morning frosts are possible, temperatures are likely to be a little above normal in many areas for the period as a whole, and potentially quite mild at times during wetter and windier spells.

The rest of October and early November will probably maintain a changeable pattern overall, with areas of low pressure often passing close to, if not across, the UK from the North Atlantic. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, with the wettest and windiest weather typically in the west and northwest, with drier conditions favoured in southern and eastern parts. A trend to more widely unsettled conditions is possible into November. Whilst some occasional colder interludes will be possible at times, temperatures are likely to be near or a little above average for the period as a whole.
