The south and Central Belt mainly dry with sunny spells and the odd shower. Argyll seeing bright spells and a few showers, these becoming more frequent later in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

A few showers across Argyll and the Central Belt this evening and overnight, but dry in the south. Fresh southerly winds along the coast, occasionally strong across Tiree later. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Sunday:

Widespread rain, occasionally heavy, will spread northeast during the morning. Drier and clearer weather will spread from the west in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Dry with some sunshine on Monday. Windy and mainly dry on Tuesday, but patchy rain likely in the afternoon. Bright with a few showers on Wednesday.

Remaining changeable as Atlantic frontal systems bring spells of rain, showers and occasional strong winds. The wettest and windiest conditions will tend to be most frequent across western areas, with longer drier interludes most favoured in the far east and southeast, where it may be very warm at times. Into October, high pressure to the northeast of the UK may become more influential on the weather, with some longer drier interludes focussed more across the north and northeast of the UK, whilst occasional rain may tend to be more prevalent towards the south and west. Temperatures are expected to be above average for the period as a whole.

Initially, high pressure may be centred to the north or northeast, with longer drier periods more likely across northern UK, whilst low pressure to the southwest brings occasional rain or showers into more southern and western parts. Towards and beyond mid-October, it may turn more widely unsettled with a greater chance of wet and windy conditions at times. Temperatures will likely be above average for the period as a whole.
