Becoming brighter with sunny spells developing.

Today:

A rather cloudy start with, mainly across Argyll, some patchy mainly light rain. However it will become brighter through the morning with some sunny spells developing for the afternoon, with perhaps just the odd shower around. Southeasterly breeze near coasts. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

A few clear spells at first but becoming cloudier through the evening with outbreaks of mainly light rain spreading northeast through the early hours. Mainly light winds. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Saturday:

A cloudy start with occasional light rain but becoming brighter towards midday with sunny spells developing for the afternoon. Freshening southerly winds near coast. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, perhaps occasionally heavy, Sunday but drier, clearer later. Mainly dry with sunny spells Monday, but evening rain. Cloudy with occasionally heavy rain Tuesday, strengthening winds.

The start of this period is likely to be largely unsettled and mostly mild, with bands or areas of rain moving across most parts of the UK, although tending to be focused more on western and possibly southern parts. Locally strong winds may also accompany the rain at times. Some drier spells are also likely, the best of these probably towards the east and possibly the north. Where skies are clear and winds light overnight, frost and fog are likely, the fog slow to clear. From around the middle of the month, we may see a transition towards more generally drier weather across the UK, and with this it is likely to turn a little cooler overall, with a greater risk of overnight frost.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are highly uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
