Late sunshine, then cloud gradually increasing from the west, to bring the chance of some patchy light rain to Argyll towards dawn. Winds light. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Saturday:

Temperatures significantly lower than Friday. Most dry with brighter spells increasing through the afternoon. Argyll cloudier with some early patchy rain. Light winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Early patchy rain for Sunday, clearing to sunshine and scattered showers for the afternoon. Largely dry Monday but rain developing later in the day. Wet and windy for Tuesday.

Changeable and at times unsettled conditions for many parts of the UK at the start of this period, as areas of low pressure and their associated frontal zones run close to or over the UK. These are likely to be most active in the north and somewhat weaker further south, closer to a ridge of high pressure extending northeast from the subtropical Atlantic. There is also potential for a period of widely windy weather during the first part of this period. By the turn of the month high pressure may become rather more dominant once again with plenty of dry weather, but with some overnight fog and frost.

Blocked or slowly evolving weather patterns are favoured during the first week or so of April. High pressure is the preferred flavour of this block; this probably centred to the north or west of the UK. This means plenty of dry weather, possibly with some pleasantly warm days, but an ongoing chance of overnight fog and frost. Moving further into April, there is an increasing chance that high pressure will become less dominant and thus a greater chance of more places seeing some rain and possible stronger winds from time to time. Overall, temperatures panning out somewhere near to average.
