Dry on Thursday with variable cloud and sunny spells.

This Evening and Tonight:

A dry evening and overnight. A few clear intervals at first but becoming largely cloudy. If clear spells persist it will be rather chilly with rural grass frost and fog patches. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Thursday:

A dry and cloudy day with the chance of a few brighter spells, best chance of sunny spells towards central and southern areas. Any fog patches clearing in the morning. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Largely dry and cloudy with light winds on Friday and Saturday, but some sunny intervals possible at times. Turning more unsettled on Sunday with winds strengthening and rain spreading north-eastwards.

A rather unsettled pattern is likely through much of this period, as low pressure systems originating over the North Atlantic trundle east or northeastwards across the UK. These will bring showers or longer spells of rain, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times, but also interspersed with some drier and brighter interludes, albeit these generally of shorter duration than the recent settled spell. Later in the period, there may be a transition to a slightly cooler and more showery northwesterly regime, as high pressure builds over the Atlantic to the west, and low pressure becomes centred to the east of the UK. Temperatures are likely to be near or slightly above average overall, although may trend slightly below normal later

It is likely to be changeable at first, with a showery northwesterly regime most favoured across the UK. Into November, an unsettled pattern is anticipated, as low pressure systems over the Atlantic track across the UK. These may be shifted farther south than normal, bringing showers or longer spells of rain fairly widely, perhaps also accompanied by some strong winds at times. Temperatures will probably be close to or slightly above average overall.
