A cloudy morning with rain, this lighter and patchy in the west but heavier and more persistent across Tayside and Fife. Rain clearing north in the afternoon with some brighter intervals developing later. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

A mostly cloudy evening and largely dry with just a few spots of light rain possible. Dry overnight with clear spells developing. Rather cold. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Thursday:

A mostly dry day with bright or sunny spells. The odd isolated shower possible in the west. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cloudy and breezy with heavy rain clearing to the north later on Friday. Further spells of heavy rain over the weekend with winds strengthening and bringing a risk of gales.

Changeable and at times unsettled, with weather systems spreading in from the Atlantic. These will bring spells of rain, heavy at times, together with a risk of strong winds or gales. Between systems it will be drier and brighter with some sunshine, but also with a few showers in places.
