It will be cloudy with showers or longer outbreaks of rain which will turn to snow over the mountains. It will feel chilly in the northeast winds, these strong at times around the coast. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

The cloud becoming well broken at times with a frost developing in more sheltered inland areas. Occasional showers, these wintry over the hills and remaining breezy around the coast. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Friday:

Bright with occasional sunny spells and a scattering of showers, these wintry on hills. Chilly northeast winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Mainly dry and bright on Saturday with a widespread frost at night. A scattering of showers on Sunday and Monday, wintry on hills. Chilly winds.

Colder conditions, already affecting the far north of the UK are likely to extend south to affect all pasts through the early part of the period. Initially we may see some less cold conditions with some cloud, rain and possibly hill snow affecting parts of the west. It is as this clears later Tuesday that the colder conditions will extend south, bringing some snow showers into northern parts, and the first frosts of the season for many parts of the south. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall likely to return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
