Today:

Cloudy with rain in the south becoming brighter as showers build through the morning. These showers will become slow moving and heavy in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Bright spells and showers, these becoming less frequent during the evening. Clear spells increase for a time from late evening but cloud and rain spread northeast later. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Friday:

Early cloud and rain soon clear northeast to leave the morning dry with sunny spells. The odd shower will develop during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Dry at first, cloud, rain soon push northeast Saturday. Rain becomes heavy in the south Sunday, clearing northeast early Monday, becoming drier, brighter in the afternoon.

Changeable early in this period with Atlantic frontal systems moving across the UK. These will bring showers or longer spells of rain at times, with wettest conditions in the northwest, drier in the southeast. Strong winds may affect parts of the UK at times, especially the northwest. Later in the period, higher pressure and more settled conditions may begin to become more prevalent, especially in the south. There will probably still be some wet interludes though. Temperatures are likely to be near to or a little above normal overall.

The start of the period is likely to be relatively settled, with high pressure in the vicinity of the UK bringing drier conditions to most parts of the UK. However some showers or spells of rain are still possible. Winds will mostly be light with temperatures probably above normal. Towards the end of June, low pressure may begin to have more of an influence, especially across the south where heavy showers and thunderstorms become more probable. It may also become hot in parts of the south.
