Overnight heavy rain will clear eastern areas early, with isolated showers elsewhere. Showers developing more widely through the day, often heavy with a risk of thunder in places. Temperatures around normal. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

Showers easing off with some late evening sunshine possible. Clear spells overnight, along with light winds, could see some cooler temperatures in places. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Saturday:

Dry to start, perhaps with some early sunny spells for eastern coasts. Rain, heavy at times, then becoming widespread from late morning, persisting for the rest of the day. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Unsettled weather looks set to continue into the start of next week with outbreaks of rain or showers, occasionally heavy with the risk of thunder. Temperatures around normal.

Likely remaining unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain across all areas at times. Rainfall amounts will probably be above average for the time year across many areas with the wettest conditions in the northwest. Potential for some strong winds at times. Some drier and more settled interludes could develop, perhaps becoming longer in duration across southern areas later in this period. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Signals are fairly limited from mid-September onward. At first, probably a continuation of a changeable regime with the wettest conditions in the northwest and longer drier interludes in the southeast. However, the distribution of rainfall soon becomes very unclear though compared to earlier in the month there is a greater chance of more prolonged settled/dry spells. Temperatures likely varying around average with some warm spells likely, especially in the south.
