Headline:

Mostly cloudy, outbreaks of light rain or drizzle, fog.

This Evening and Tonight:

Variable often large amounts of cloud, and although mostly dry some scattered showery rain is possible, with drizzle over hills. Patchy mist or fog may also form in places. Mild with light winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Friday:

Some showery rain, which could turn heavier for a time before weakening again later in the day. Light winds at first, turning breezier. Still mild. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Variable cloud, some overnight mist or fog patches. Occasional drier spells but a band of rain or showers likely later Sunday, perhaps lingering Monday. Breezy at times, trending less mild.

The start of this period is likely to be largely unsettled and mostly mild, with bands or areas of rain moving across most parts of the UK, although tending to be focused more on western and possibly southern parts. Locally strong winds may also accompany the rain at times. Some drier spells are also likely, the best of these probably towards the east and possibly the north. Where skies are clear and winds light overnight, frost and fog are likely, the fog slow to clear. From around the middle of the month, we may see a transition towards more generally drier weather across the UK, and with this it is likely to turn a little cooler overall, with a greater risk of overnight frost.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are highly uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
