Today:

A bright morning with hazy sunny spells. Cloud will tend to develop through the day and bring a few showers, some of which may be on the heavy side. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

There will be a mixture of clear intervals and showers, these more frequent over Perthshire and the Trossachs in the evening and early night. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Friday:

Another mixed day with some brighter spells but also some showers, which may become slow moving and bring some longer spells of rain to Angus later. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Saturday starting dry before cloud and rain push up from the south. Dry much of Sunday then rain spreading from northwest, lasting into Monday before brightening up later.

Changeable and at times rather unsettled conditions look to dominate through the middle part of May, with low pressure often close by. This means periods of rain or showers, some of which could be heavy, for many places, though some drier interludes are also expected. For the most part, temperatures are likely to be close to or perhaps a little below normal, though depending on the position of low pressure relative to the UK, there is the chance of brief warmer mroe humid interludes extending north from the near continent. With this would be the chance of some thunderstorms, these most likely affecting parts of England and Wales.

Low pressure systems are likely to still be close by to the UK at the start of this period. This means showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, these heavy in places, with the wettest conditions probably towards the northwest by this stage. There will, however, probably be some dry and warm interludes, these more likely towards the south, although temperatures are likely to be close to normal overall. Later in the period, more settled and drier conditions may develop, as high pressure establishes itself over or to the west of the UK, with temperatures perhaps rising a little above normal, especially in the west. Should this happen, eastern parts may be on the cool side with a predominant flow off the North Sea.
