Today:

The morning will be dry with bright or sunny spells. Cloud will push in from the southwest from the early afternoon with outbreaks of rain, some heavy, soon following northeast. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, some heavy at first. The rain will begin to ease from after midnight. Becoming windy for a time. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Saturday:

The morning will begin cloudy and windy with some rain. The rain will turn showery in the afternoon with the showers becoming isolated later. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Unsettled conditions continue through this period with bands of heavy rain passing northeast Sunday and Tuesday mornings. Bright spells and mainly dry Monday.

A continuation of the broadly unsettled conditions is likely through this period. One area of low pressure, intiially close to northwestern areas at the start of this period, should soon clear away, but it is likely that further areas of low pressure will develop over the North Atlantic. These will likely progress eastwards towards the UK, but could become quite slow-moving in the vicinity of the UK, as they butt up against higher pressure to the east and north. As a result, the wettest conditions are more likely in western areas, but all parts could see heavy rain at times. Strong winds are also likely at times, again more likely in the west. Temperatures are expected to remain close to or above normal.

This period is likely to be changeable, with further spells of rain or showers and some strong winds at times, especially in the west and northwest. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. However, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather, compared to the unsettled conditions we are likely to see through the first couple of weeks of December. This will increase the chances of overnight fog and frost. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
