Mostly dry through the evening, but some light rain spreading into Lochaber and the Western Isles. Rain spreading northeast overnight, heavy and persistent in the west. Coastal gales in west. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Sunday:

Cloudy and rain persisting throughout the day on Sunday, heaviest towards Lochaber and Mull. Coastal gales in west translate to Caithness later. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Often dry with bright spells on Monday with a few showers, cloudy with more persistent rain over the Western Isles. Often cloudy with showers through Tuesday and Wednesday.

Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, and strong winds are expected to spread from the southwest as a deep area of low pressure crosses the UK later next week. This system will likely move away to leave the following weekend showery and cooler. Into the following week, conditions are expected to be changeable with showers or longer spells of rain across many parts of the UK. The wettest weather will probably be in parts of the north or northeast, with the southwest driest overall. Temperatures are expected to be close to or slightly below normal for the time of year.
