Mostly dry but somewhat cloudy to start but bright or sunny spells developing through the day, as well the odd shower, mostly affecting the Western Isles, gentle northerly breeze. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Tonight:

A dry start to the evening but cloud thickening with some rain spreading north thought the night, heavier at times for Lochaber, Skye and Lochalsh. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Sunday:

A damp day on Sunday with outbreaks of rain for most areas, perhaps Caithness seeing the best of any dry weather. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

An unsettled start to the week with periods of showers and rain, perhaps some brighter conditions for Tuesday, a little uncertain by midweek but risk of strong winds and rain.

Likely remaining unsettled with most areas seeing some showers or longer spells of rain at times, with the main focus for these across northern and western areas. Potential for some strong and gusty winds at times. Some drier and more settled interludes could develop, perhaps becoming longer in duration across southern areas later in this period. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Signals are fairly limited from mid-September onward. At first, probably a continuation of a changeable regime with the wettest conditions in the northwest and longer drier interludes in the southeast. However, the distribution of rainfall soon becomes very unclear, although compared to earlier in the month there is a greater chance of more prolonged settled/dry spells. Temperatures likely varying around average with some warm spells likely, especially in the south.
