Sunny spells, but a cloudier start in north.

Today:

A cloudy start in north thinning and clearing during the morning with bright or sunny spells developing, though north coast staying cloudier. South and west Highland staying sunny throughout. Somewhat cooler, especially in north, still quite warm in south. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

Some evening sunshine away from the far north, then the cloud there will extend south across much of the region tonight, with the odd light shower. Lochaber staying clear. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Saturday:

A cloudy start for most, the odd light shower, but sunnier over Lochaber, and all areas will brighten up with some good sunny spells in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunny spells on Sunday, then cloudier in northwest with light rain later. Cloudy start Monday then most areas brightening up with some sunshine. Northwest cloudy, damp Tuesday, sunshine elsewhere.

Initially predominantly dry with large sunny spells away from the northwest where cooler, cloudier and wetter conditions are most likely. Though there will be a few isolated showers further south at times. Becoming very warm again in parts of the south before the weekend introduces a more widely unsettled and showery period including risk of thunderstorms - though still some good sunny spells and temperatures around or just above average for most. Toward the end of the month uncertainty increases, but potentially returning to a drier, settled and warm period, in the south especially.

Perhaps a somewhat more changeable period, with the potential for showers or thunderstorms or even some longer spells of rain at times, these most likely to the north. Drier and brighter interludes are also likely, perhaps more likely across the south and southeast. Temperatures are likely to be above normal with some hot spells possible.
