Occasional brighter spells during the morning and early afternoon with most avoiding the few fleeting showers that appear. Cloud building from the south from mid-afternoon with rain reaching Lochaber, Skye and the Uists by early evening. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Occasional rain for all this evening, gradually clearing from the south overnight, with all dry with brighter spells for dawn Sunday. Southeast winds occasionally strong across the coasts and Isles. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Sunday:

Mainly bright and dry start, then showers developing from mid-morning with some turning heavy inland for the afternoon bringing some risk of thunderstorms. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

A very showery picture with Monday in the west wettest where showers merge to longer periods of rain most readily. Best of temperatures and brightness towards Inverness.

This will mean showers or longer spells of rain will affect the much of the UK at times. Some heavy rain or showers are expected in places, most often in the west. Thunderstorms and hail are also possible, as are some spells of strong winds if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK. Some short-lived spells of drier and more settled weather are also possible at times, especially later in the period when they may last a little longer. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells.
