Tonight:

Mostly dry through the evening with some bright spells at first, but then patchy rain spreading north overnight. Freshening southerly winds. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Sunday:

Outbreaks of rain in the morning then dry for a time before further showers in the evening. Fresh to strong southerly winds. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Sunny spells at first Monday, strengthening southwesterly winds and occasionally heavy showers later. Occasionally heavy rain or showers on Tuesday with strong to gale force winds, this clearing through Wednesday.

Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional outbreaks of rain or showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. A trend toward some longer dry interludes between systems as we head toward mid-September, but at this stage a return of prolonged dry, settled weather looks unlikely. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, though still with some relatively cool nights at times.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
