It will be a mostly cloudy day with outbreaks of light rain. Still some good dry spells and perhaps some brighter intervals breaking through. Light winds becoming westerly and strengthening later, especially across Outer Hebrides. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly cloudy with a few outbreaks of rain but clearer intervals developing in the evening. Overnight there may be a few showers, with clear intervals between them.Winds easing. Rather cold. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Thursday:

Variable cloud with some bright or sunny spells. A few showers possible, these mainly in the west where they may be heavy, with longer dry spells in the east. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cloudy and breezy with heavy rain clearing to the north through Friday. Further spells of heavy rain over the weekend with winds strengthening and bringing a risk of gales.

Changeable and at times unsettled, with weather systems spreading in from the Atlantic. These will bring spells of rain, heavy at times, together with a risk of strong winds or gales. Between systems it will be drier and brighter with some sunshine, but also with a few showers in places. Further into the period there is a chance that the weather patterns could become more slowly evolving for a time. This may lead to more in the way of settled weather, especially in the east, but this is uncertain. Temperatures may be slightly below normal at first, but are likely to rise above average later.
