There will be a few light showers around Fraserburgh and Peterhead at first. Otherwise it will be a dry day with sunny spells and light winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

It will be dry through the evening and overnight with clear spells and light winds allowing a few fog patches and a touch of frost to develop in sheltered glens. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Monday:

A dry start with some brightness but generally clouding over through the day with the odd spot of rain or drizzle. Best of any bright, warm spells towards Moray coast. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Overnight rain clearing Tuesday morning then sunshine and showers, windy at times. Windy on Wednesday with bright spells, rain likely later, this slowly clearing southeast later on Thursday.

The weather is expected to remain changeable. Low pressure systems will continue to run across the North Atlantic, often to the north and northwest of the UK, bringing occasional bands of rain and strong winds, interspersed with brighter and more showery conditions. Rain will be most prevalent across hills in the west and northwest, where above average rainfall is likely through this period. Longer drier interludes are more favoured in southern and eastern parts, but even here there will probably be more rain over the period compared to recent weeks. Whilst brief cooler interludes and early morning frosts are possible, temperatures are likely to be a little above normal in many areas for the period as a whole, and potentially quite mild at times during wetter and windier spells.

The rest of October and early November will probably maintain a changeable pattern overall, with areas of low pressure often passing close to, if not across, the UK from the North Atlantic. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, with the wettest and windiest weather typically in the west and northwest, with drier conditions favoured in southern and eastern parts. A trend to more widely unsettled conditions is possible into November. Whilst some occasional colder interludes will be possible at times, temperatures are likely to be near or a little above average for the period as a whole.
