After a chilly start, a fine but windy day is expected, and widely sunny with only limited amounts of high cloud. Warm, especially out the wind, but cooler in any onshore breeze. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Largely clear skies overnight will allow for temperatures to fall. With winds easing, the odd patch of frost cannot be ruled out and very isolated valley fog is possible. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Wednesday:

Another fine and dry day, with only limited amounts of high cloud. With lighter winds and widely sunny skies, it will be feeling warmer than on Tuesday for most. Maximum temperature 26 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Cooler Thursday and Friday, and largely dry with variable cloud and sunny spells. Some overnight frost possible, and winds strengthening later Friday. Further rain spreading east Saturday.

It will likely remain rather changeable during the first part of this period with showers or occasional longer spells of rain affecting many areas. Whether this takes the form of successive weather systems pushing in from the Atlantic or a more slowly evolving weather pattern is rather more unclear. Some drier, brighter interludes will also occur and when winds are light, it should feel quite warm, despite temperatures most likely being close to normal for most. Beyond mid-month, high pressure may become rather more dominant, bringing more in the way of drier and perhaps warmer weather, though this will be determined by the location and proximity of where any high is positioned relative to the UK.

High pressure will probably be the most dominant pattern during this period with a good deal of dry weather across the UK as whole. Some unsettled interludes could develop at times, but overall rainfall amounts are expected to be below average. Temperatures will probably be near to or slightly above normal, although some cold nights are still possible.
