A chilly start once again, with early frost, fog and low cloud soon clearing to leave another dry and sunny day. Warmer than Thursday with lighter winds, but feeling cooler towards the east coast where some low cloud could linger. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Staying dry overnight. Temperatures falling to again give a risk of rural frost, with low cloud, mist and fog patches once again for many parts by dawn. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Saturday:

Another dry and fine day expected once early low cloud, mist and fog clears. Sunshine through the afternoon but likely cloudier into the evening. Temperatures remaining warm. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Dry with some hazy sunshine Sunday after any early low cloud clears, warm for most. Monday sees a risk of some showers. Drier again into Tuesday but turning breezier.

High pressure is likely to lie close to the UK at the start of this period. Most places will be dry with sunny spells and light winds, although there could be some overnight mist and fog. Into the first week of May, conditions will probably become more changeable with low pressure systems becoming more likely. This means an increasing chance of showers or longer spells of rain, with a risk of strong winds at times. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above normal.

A generally more changeable or unsettled spell of weather compared to the previous couple of weeks. This comes about as Atlantic low pressure systems move towards the UK, increasing the chance of periods of heavy rain and perhaps strong winds at times. Towards the middle of the month, weather patterns become increasingly uncertain; however, the wettest and windiest conditions seem most likely to be in the northwest, with the drier and more settled conditions in the southeast. Temperatures will likely be near or a little above normal overall.
