Sunny start for many places, then cloud gradually increases from the northwest. A few showers are possible, but it will generally remain dry and bright for many. Strong and gusty winds slowly easing. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

A band of mostly light rain reaches Norfolk late in the night. Otherwise, generally dry with variable cloud and occasional clearer periods. Still rather breezy. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Monday:

Any thicker cloud and patchy rain across Norfolk at first soon clearing, then generally dry with warm bright spells. Winds continue to slowly ease. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Variable cloud but often dry with bright spells. Cloudier Wednesday with patchy light rain, clearing later. Patchy fog Thursday morning. Much lighter winds than recent days. Daytime temperatures near average.

On Thursday, the south of the UK will see residual patchy light rain and drizzle clear to the southeast during the day, with skies then brightening. The north of the UK, especially northwest Scotland, will also see some rain and drizzle, and it will be rather windy here. The rest of the country will be dry and bright with some sunshine and fairly light winds. Thereafter, high pressure is expected to dominate for most if not all of the rest of the period, bringing plenty of dry, settled weather. Cloud amounts will be variable, and some overnight fog is likely, this slowly clearing through the morning. Thicker cloud and some rain may affect the far north at times though. Temperatures will be near average, but with some chilly nights possible.

The latter half of October will likely see a transition to more widely unsettled conditions again, though the timing of this is uncertain. Whether this takes the form of successive depressions moving in from the Atlantic or a rather slower-evolving weather pattern remains to be seen, but there is a greater chance of more places seeing more frequent spells of rain or showers and possibly strong winds later in the month, these conditions continuing into the start of November. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall.
