Early evening sunny spells will give way to thicker cloud this evening as bands of rain, locally heavy with a low risk of thunder, move northeastwards overnight. Wind eases inland but remaining windy near the coast. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Saturday:

Outbreaks of rain clearing away. Then mostly cloudy at first but brighter spells developing, this potentially allowing heavy and thundery showers to form. Winds easing. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Further heavy showers Sunday. Mainly dry on Monday and Tuesday, perhaps some spots of light rain. Areas of low cloud possible but also sunny spells. Near average temperatures.

The final week of March into the start of April looks to be characterised by a slowly evolving, but changeable weather pattern. Initially, a dry interlude is likely with spells of sunshine across many areas. With time, these drier conditions will become more favoured across the south. Further north and northwest, there is a greater chance of rain or showers at times, these accompanied by windier spells and a chance of gales for parts of the far northwest. There is a small chance that these wetter, more unsettled conditions could become more widespread for a time. Temperatures will probably pan out close to average overall, though chilly nights remain possible where clear skies coincide with light winds.

Confidence is lower than normal, but blocked or slow-moving weather patterns are most probable through the middle of April. This can lead to slow-moving areas of low and high pressure and, depending on their location, this can result in periods of either dry conditions or wetter episodes with rain or showers. Temperatures will vary, with some large day-to-day swings possible, but overall are likely to be near average.
